Google Is Restoring Missing Evaluations In Organization Profiles

Google is bring back missing out on evaluations in Google Business Profiles after repairing a bug that triggered them to get eliminated.

Google is fixing a bug that triggered evaluations to go missing from Google Service Profiles. Google validates reviews are getting restored. Google’s Browse Intermediary, Danny Sullivan, announced on Buy Twitter Verified in reply to Mike Blumenthal, who states he reported the bug a week ago.

Blumenthal isn’t exaggerating the severity of the bug. Reviews are a restaurant’s bread and butter, and removing them can significantly impact earnings.

There are many threads in the Google Organization Profile help online forums started by company owner who lost most or all of their evaluations.

In each thread, the business owners share one thing in typical. After using Google’s recommended edits to their business profile, they all lost reviews.

Blumenthal composes in an article that he discovered Google was altering the customer recognition (CID) number when organizations applied suggested edits:

“With some digging, I discovered that in each case Google had actually changed the CID, the identifier Google utilizes to connect all relevant details to a service, including evaluations. Usually the CID only changes when 2 listings combine or Google has hard-suspended a listing for guidelines infractions and after that renewed it.”

Consumer reviews are associated with a particular CID number, which indicates altering the CID gets rid of the reviews.

That need to never ever happen, specifically not when applying Google’s recommended edits.

A fix is on the way, and ideally, it’s as simple as reverting the affected Google Organization Profiles to their original CID numbers.

We’ll upgrade this post if Google shares extra info.
